[NY] Manhattan D.A. Busts Illegal Knives Ring - Wednesday, July 07, 2010
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. announced Thursday a crackdown on the sale of illegal knives in the city.
Prosecutors say they confiscated 1,300 knives in an undercover investigation.
Many of the knives were purchased from national retailers like Home Depot, Paragon Sports and Eastern Mountain Sports.
He says the sale of everything from switchblades to so-called gravity knives which have side folding blades must stop. ...

[GA] New 'gun' law includes knives - Saturday, June 12, 2010
ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Georgia's bill to clarify where licensed gun permit holders can carry their weapons is now law. It allows licensed gun owners more freedom to carry their weapons, and more clearly spells out where weapons are not permitted.

And it's now called the Weapon's Carry License, because some knives requires a license to carry.
Georgia's new law requires that if you carry a knife with a blade more than five inches on a handle, either concealed or not, you have to get a Weapons Carry License, just like a handgun. ...
